A Guide to Biking in Yellowstone: 11 Days of Mountains, Hot Springs and Wildlife

A Guide to Biking in Yellowstone: 11 Days of Mountains, Hot Springs and Wildlife

I’ll be honest, biking in Yellowstone wasn’t exactly what I thought it would be. I didn’t always vibe with the crew I traveled with. I was laughably unprepared for the weather and the roads. And, though I’m not new to bicycle touring,

Biking in Yellowstone: 5 Reasons Why It’s Madness (but You Should Do it Anyway)

Thank you to Moosejaw for kindly sponsoring this post about biking in Yellowstone and why it’s my madness. All opinions are 100% honest and completely my own. Moosejaw has some super awesome high-quality gear for bicycle tourist and general outdoor lovers and a

Girl, Meet Bike: Falling Headfirst into the Sport of Cycling

Cycling. Well, actually, bicycle touring. How is it that these two words describe my lifestyle when, just two years ago, they meant very little to me? I’ve never been a cyclist. I didn’t grow up cycling around with friends after school and I

My Pan-American Cycling Route is Beginning to Unfold!

My Pan-American Cycling Route is Beginning to Unfold!

My second favorite thing about bicycle tour planning (only after ogling photos of beautiful locations and idyllic campsites), has begun: Actually sitting down, creating a list of where I want to go and putting it on a map. Today, I’m

(Mis)Adventures While Cycling the Pacific Coast Highway – Alternate Route

Or, the other title I considered: Nothing Went Right on our Pacific Coast Tour (and it was still perfect). So this is a personal memoir turned route list turned alternate route suggestion for anyone looking to cycle the famed Pacific

              RAGBRAI: A Two-wheeled Ode to a Fly-Over State

So, last summer I did my first organized bicycle tour: RAGBRAI. And, since the 2017 route was just announced this past weekend,  I thought I’d share my own personal recount of this two-wheeled highlight. First off, no, I didn’t just

                Pedaling Across America

Meet Tom. He’s a pretty badass entrepreneur with a major adventure traveling addiction and a mission to make a difference in the world. I recently had the chance to touch base with him right as he was beginning his Southern

Urban Camping: A San Diego Cycling Adventure

At the turn of the New Year, I declared 2016 the year of ‘doing.’ Of approaching life with a no hands-barred attitude. Instead of just talking about some great adventures, I’d be the one out there breathing the fresh air,

5 Cycling Adventures I Want to Take This Year

A new year always welcomes the prospect of brand-new adventures and a fresh start. Whether you want to get in shape, start a new hobby or just spend more time on yourself, the possibilities are endless and the future is

                    About Me

                    Photo I'm Averi!
                    I'm Averi!

                    Bicycle Explorer. Curious Mind.

I've known for awhile now I want to embark on a bike ride of epic proportions. I've known for even longer that I want to do something meaningful with life, something that really impacts people.

                    So, where do I begin?

                    1. Figure out what it takes to bicycle around the world - gear, routes, bicycles, etc.

                    2. Spread happiness wherever I go.

I'm not sure where exactly this will take me, but I do know this: I want to focus on the human experience - giving words to other people's stories & helping them in a way that benefits them, with no expectation of anything in return.

I want to bicycle and ask one simple question of people: What's your bliss?

This is my little project in this big world. Thank you for being a part of it.

                    Never miss an adventure
